PRESENTATION SLIDES
Bible Study Group members had varying levels of familiarity with the Bible, many of whom had little to no experience studying it. Two teachers leading these Bible Study Groups (BSG) recognized a significant gap in their knowledge and skills, which made it challenging for them to engage deeply with the Scriptures.
The teachers wanted their students to learn how to study the Bible using the principles of Inductive Bible Study, specifically focusing on Observation, Interpretation, and Application, but they needed an effective way to introduce these concepts to beginners. A needs analysis survey of BSG members was conducted for an accurate assessment of training. After conducting the needs analysis, a training workshop was proposed for the BSG members.
To address this challenge, I designed a VILT interactive workshop tailored to students' needs. The training introduces the three key principles of Inductive Bible Study. To help students grasp these concepts, practical examples from familiar Bible passages are used. Engaging activities are incorporated, such as group discussions, and writing exercises with guided observations that allow students to practice observing the text, critically interpreting its meaning, and discussing how the biblical teachings apply to their daily lives. A list of website Bible study tools and resources is provided for the students to use outside the session for personal study.
