AUDIENCE:

New and current church members who are attendees of Church Bible Study Groups.

CHALLENGE:

I designed an engaging and interactive eLearning course to meet the needs of new and existing church members who are familiar with the Bible at varying levels. 

ACTION:  

Developing and aligning content that is relevant to the learners' personal and spiritual growth and speaks to their journeys was essential. This approach was designed to inspire them to apply biblical teachings to their lives, not just as a group, but as individuals. I created interactive exercises to stimulate thinking and prepare them for new concepts, to help them apply these exercises and integrate them into their lives. The inclusion of multimedia, divided into manageable segments to reinforce learning through text, images, video, and audio, was a key part of this personal growth journey.

SOLUTION:

The solution was an interactive, multimedia e-learning course that offered a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.  This course is a collection of lessons and a holistic approach to biblical education. It includes genre-specific animations of each Bible book, with audio pronunciations of the names as they appear, to ensure clarity and correct pronunciation. The animated images transition smoothly, emphasizing each genre and aiding memorization, providing a well-rounded learning experience. Practice activities incorporate video demonstrations of the three inductive Bible study techniques to deepen Bible study skills. Each step's demonstration shows learners specific steps to observe, interpret, and apply the Scripture. After the video demonstrations, learners participate in practice activities in all three stages. The practice activities encourage learners to replicate the specific elements of each stage of Inductive Bible Study. The video demonstrations and interactive practice activities promote effective engagement, leading to robust Bible study skills and increased learner confidence in interpreting and applying biblical principles.
